Here's Kilburn High Road, from which the classic band 'Kilburn and the High Roads' got their name. Good job they named themselves after something which isn't a trademark, unlike 'Primark' for example. I don't think that Primark were around in the 1970s, when the band was formed. HSBC definitely weren't. The word 'cafe' was in general usage, despite the war.
After forming Kilburn and the High Roads, Ian Dury split them up and went on to fame and fortune with the Blockheads. I guess that Kilburn and the High Roads were slowing him down, something particularly galling if you happen to be a cripple.
